Bedford Country School was established in 2009 by a group of parents from the local farming district to fulfil a need to educate children closer to home.

Mrs Rene Park was appointed as the first Headmistress to be assisted by one qualified teacher and 2 teaching assistants to educate the 35 children from Pre-Primary to Grade 3.

19 Graham Street, a beautiful 1900 schoolhouse, was bought and restored by our two most generous benefactors, Richard Aucamp and Piet du Toit and shortly after our beloved school was officially opened.

Over the years Bedford Country School has grown and expanded its campus considerably. Under the guidance and leadership of its former Headmistress, Ammie Pringle, Montrose house was bought in _____ to house the Pre-School on its own property and more recently in 2019, 23 Graham Street was acquired to make space for additional classrooms and facilities.

Currently we have just over 100 children from Pre-Primary to Grade 7 housed in three buildings as well as a boarding house and numerous sporting grounds and facilities.
